The short answer
Malaysia uses four standard mattress sizes, all 190 cm (6 ft 3 in) long: Single is 91 cm wide (3 ft), Super Single is 107 cm (3 ft 6 in), Queen is 152 cm (5 ft) and King is 183 cm (6 ft). Queen is the usual choice for couples; King suits couples who want more room or share the bed with a child.
Malaysian mattress size chart
The four sizes below are the standard in Malaysian mattress shops and fit standard Malaysian bed frames and fitted sheets. Thickness varies by model and does not change the size name.
| Size | Width × length (cm) | Width × length (ft) | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Single | 91 × 190 | 3' × 6'3" | One child or teenager, small rooms, bunk beds |
| Super Single | 107 × 190 | 3'6" × 6'3" | One adult, studio units, guest rooms |
| Queen | 152 × 190 | 5' × 6'3" | Couples, or one adult who likes space |
| King | 183 × 190 | 6' × 6'3" | Couples who want room, or co-sleeping with a child |
Which size fits your room?
Leave about 60 cm of walking space on each side you get out of. A Queen fits comfortably in a room of roughly 3 m × 3 m; a King is easier in a master bedroom of about 3.6 m × 3.6 m or larger.
Before ordering a King, measure the lift, staircase and bedroom door as well as the room. A 183 cm mattress has to get there first.
Queen or King for a couple?
A Queen gives each person 76 cm of width, narrower than a Single. A King gives each person 91 cm, the same as a Single each. If either of you moves a lot at night, sleeps hot, or a child often joins you, the King is worth the floor space.
If the room only takes a Queen, a pocket spring or latex mattress helps: both keep movement on one side from reaching the other.
Sizes outside the standard
Some imported bed frames, and some hotel and project orders, need a size outside these four. Send the measurements on WhatsApp and we will tell you which models can be made to that size.
